thoughts were racin’ through my head there and remembered a chapter in my life when i played for an all female punk band back home. that was a long, long, long time ago.
then all of a sudden.. a song came through my head. i can’t believe i still know all the lyrics by heart. the song was written by a very good friend of mine and she’ll be surprised to know i still know the full song.. i can still even play it with my guitar i think! 🙂
cindy.. my dear cindy, hope u don’t mind me blogging about your composition.. i simply love it. (even after 19 years later!!)
‘magic spell’
i can see the stars
though it’s dark above…
butterflies dancin’ in my stomach
ur here.. ur here.. ur here
ya ur here
when we dance
my heart fills with joy
touched with happiness
when ur lips cover mine………….
somersaultin there goes my eyes
flip-floppin with every beat of my heart
ur here.. ur here.. ur here
ya ur here
when we dance
my heart fills with joy
touched with happiness
when ur lips cover mine………….
Seems like everybody’s got a price
I wonder how they sleep at night
When the sale comes first and the truth comes second
Just stop for a minute and smile
Why is everybody so serious?
Acting so damn mysterious
You got your shades on your eyes and your heels so high
That you can’t even have a good time
Ain’t about the cha-ching, cha-ching
Ain’t about the ba-bling, ba-bling
Wanna make the world dance
Forget about the price tag
been living for six weeks now in kerry + i still have yet to find out how it got baptised as ‘the kingdom’. kerry had always been my favourite destination in ireland. it just never occurred to me that i’d live here one day and for the record, i am already in love with this county!
the sunday just gone was a glorious and scorchin’ one so i decided to take a bike on boat tour to the gap of dunloe. i thought, i’ll cycle around the gap for a couple of hours and come back to killarney before dusk. Somehow.. somehow, i missed the turn to the gap of dunloe + ended up doing half of the ring of kerry. the road was so busy and it was pretty scary but for an absolute rookie in cycling, i think i did pretty well. captivated + allured by the beauty of my surroundings, i took endless stops for photographs and took about mmm.. about 400 pictures i think, a few i’ve posted below. hope u like them! am quite proud to show snaps of the county where i live now. in my head as i took the photographs i pondered, kerry should be a new synonym for beautiful.. the landscapes are just mind-blowing!
let’s go all ‘country’ style with bill hickey with this vibrant country music, kingdom of kerry!
day after day,
alone on a hill,
the man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still
but nobody wants to know him,
they can see that he’s just a fool,
and he never gives an answer,
but the fool on the hill,
sees the sun going down,
and the eyes in his head,
see the world spinning ’round.
well on the way,
head in a cloud,
the man of a thousand voices talking perfectly loud
but nobody ever hears him,
or the sound he appears to make,
and he never seems to notice,
but the fool on the hill,
sees the sun going down,
and the eyes in his head,
see the world spinning ’round.
and nobody seems to like him,
they can tell what he wants to do,
and he never shows his feelings,
but the fool on the hill,
sees the sun going down,
and the eyes in his head,
see the world spinning ’round.
ooh, ooh,
round and round and round.
and he never listens to them,
he knows that they’re the fools
they don’t like him,
the fool on the hill
sees the sun going down,
and the eyes in his head,
see the world spinning ’round.
right after i posted the last blog, i received an SMS and a post in FB that ‘an end of an era is a beginning of a new one’. indeed it is.
am starting to really, really like it here… Killarney had always been one of my favourite destinations in Ireland. the town is surrounded with such a heavenly scenery and the locals are just so warm.
will share these pictures i took last weekend in Killarney National Park .. the first of the many walks i intend to take there!
i live 5 minutes walk away from here + that’s just awesome!
sure it is an end of an era.. not that 6.5 years count as an era but living in limerick these past few years certainly had embossed plenty of memorable and very important events in my life. thus, one can say.. it is an end of an era.
7 hours from now i am moving to my new home in killarney (cill airne) and i am so looking forward to it. new flat, new job, new friends to make.. new environment, what’s there not to look forward to? ok.. ok, i am lying. i am not looking forward to the moving bit. i spent the whole day today packing and it is such a sweet sorrow.. a painful task to do. i still have 5% job to do and i am ‘exhaustipated’ — a new word i encountered today.. not a very nice word but i like the sound of it so thought i’ll use it for the craic.
the clock is ticking and i’ve about 10 minutes left before i could go back to slaving up myself from all the packing again.. pheww!!
a few B&W shots i like which i hope u might like too..
saw ‘curse of the golden flower’ this evening and i must say that i was completely and utterly blown away.
the movie is a masterpiece. it is indeed a work of a genius.
the story’s depth, the sword battle’s exquisite choreography, the whole cinematography & art direction are all almost perfect. ‘curse of the golden flower’ is not just a ‘martial arts film’ despite the numerous martial art acts all thoughout the movie..
it’s intelligently crafted and it’s a must see for everyone.
well.. 3 great news embraced me the last 10 days and i am H.A.P.P.Y.
that’s an understatement.. i am very happy!
PLUS in a few hours time, i am off to holidays to the beautiful Krakow, Poland followed by Cavalese, Italy (for the skiing.. geesh, it’d be my first and i am N.E.R.V.O.U.S.) then back to Krakow.. i am travelling with a girlfriend + her mom + sister.. it’s going to be fabulous! it is going to be great!
well.. 2012.. mmm.. so far.. so good..
the excitement for the holidays didn’t kick in until just an hour ago whilst i was packing.. yayy it should be cool. i will miss my fishes though so thought i’ll share some snaps of my fish family 🙂 ‘spiller, clumsy + baby fishes minnowls’
